In addition, the department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of several facilities located within the borough. These include the Community Pool, Echo Lake Park Fitness Trail, basketball courts adjacent to the pool, the Echo Brook softball/soccer fields (lighted), and the Echo Brook tennis courts (lighted). All of these are located in the vicinity of Borough Hall. In the Deerfield School area, the department maintains the toddler playground, basketball court, soccer fields (lighted), and the tennis courts (lighted).

DEERFIELD AND BOROUGH HALL TENNIS COURTS

We’re excited to announce that the tennis court resurfacing project at Deerfield and Boro Hall has begun. This much-needed improvement project is expected to take several weeks to complete. The contractor’s schedule unexpectedly opened up, allowing us the opportunity to move forward sooner than anticipated.

We understand there is never a perfect time for construction projects of this nature, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding throughout the process. During construction, the front courts at Boro Hall will remain available for use by tennis badge holders whenever classes are not scheduled. Classes are scheduled Sundays 5:30-8:30pm, Mondays 7-8:30pm, Tuesdays 4-8:30pm, and Thursdays 5:30-8:30pm. Those courts will undergo crack repairs and resurfacing after preparation work on the other four courts has been completed.

Due to the limited number of available courts during construction, all court time must be reserved in advance. Tennis badge holders may reserve only one time slot at a time. Once your reserved playing time has been completed, you may then reserve another slot. This policy is being implemented to ensure fair and equal access for all players throughout the duration of the project.

Please note that any abuse of the reservation system may result in the temporary suspension of tennis badge privileges until the resurfacing projects are completed.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and look forward to providing our residents and players with upgraded courts and an outstanding summer tennis season.
