Public Works
The Director of Public Work is appointed by the Borough Council. His or her responsibilities include maintaining the Borough's infrastructure and public facilities. Any problems observed with streets, sanitary sewers and public buildings (other than schools) should be brought to the attention of this office. Typically, these problems could be potholes, missing street or traffic lights, blocked catch basins, blocked sight distance at intersections, etc.
2024 LEAF COLLECTION
Bag pick up will take place November 4th through December 13th. 30-Gallon biodegradable paper bags must be used. These can be purchased at any home/garden center in the area.
Place bags at curbside, not in streets. No plastic bags will be picked up.
Residents on county roads will be serviced by Union County DPW. You do not need to bag your leaves if you live on a county road.
Note: Call police 908-232-8100 if you see any illegal dumping (ordinance no.790-89 13.4.1-6). “Adopt a Catch Basin” near your home by keeping it clear of leaves and debris—thank you!
