Mountainside Community Supports Overlook Medical Center/Atlantic Health;

“As you may know, Mountainside has many residents who work in and for Overlook Medical Center/Atlantic Health. As this crisis intensifies, nursing units at Overlook are working 12-plus hour shifts, often with few breaks, no ability to leave their unit/floor and limited access to healthy food.

In an effort to support these neighbors who are tending to the health of other neighbors, and at the same time to support struggling local businesses, a group of Mountainside residents has mobilized to supply food to the majority of units/floors at Overlook.

The group of volunteer organizers is led by Kathleen Boreale, Amy Radick, Natalie Zuzovsky, Chrissy Kiesewetter among many others in town.

Here’s how you can help: The group is accepting financial support via Venmo. Money is going to pay local restaurants or restaurants owned by Mountainside residents who are preparing and delivering catering to Overlook to feed up to 60 people per day.

We are also looking for people willing to make a Costco/BJs run periodically to buy snack food donations (ie individually wrapped granola bars, nutri-grain bars, protein bars, almonds/nuts packages). If you can help with store runs, please reach out to Amy Radick first.
