Get out of the house and start walking! Steps to a Healthier Mountainside can help you increase your physical activity level and stay healthy. This walking program is sponsored by the Mountainside Recreation Department, and funded in part by a grant of the Watts Mountainside Community Foundation.

 

For a registration fee of $10, you will receive a pedometer to count your steps, custom t-shirt, and guidebook, all yours to keep when the two-month program ends. You are asked to record your steps each day in your log and submit weekly totals to the Mountainside Recreation Department. Incentives for various accomplishments include gift certificates to local businesses that promote active and healthy lifestyles.

 

Registration for Round #5 (Summer 2008) takes place at the Mountainside Recreation Department, 1385 Route 22 East. Participation is open to Mountainside residents. Call (908) 232-0015 with any questions.
