PAL 2016

In the 2015-2016 basketball season, the Mountainside PAL had 5 basketball teams in the Jersey Basketball Association (JBA) league  - we are pleased to say 2 teams made it to the Championship game of their respective division.

The 6th grade girls team - Mountainside Marvels - played against Watchung Saturday the 12th at the Clarke Brewer Recreation Center.  The girls were victorious in a very tight 29-26 game and are now champions of their division! The girls were 11-2 as they entered the playoffs and finished 14-2 for the season. The team consisted of 12 girls; Vicky Lama, Holliday Woodard, Jilyan Moorman, Darcey Monaghan, Allison Post, Lucrezia Marisi, Gianna Ciccimarra, Caroline Freer, Julia Zuzovsky, Erin Hilongos, Ella Wolfe and Shannen Gallagher.  The coaches were Kristen Ciccimarra, Jim Gallagher and John Moorman.

The 8th grade boys team played IHM at the Avenel Middle School 85 this Sunday the 13th and with a score of 55-44 also won and are now champions of their division!  The team was 10-2 as they entered the playoffs and finished the season 13-2.  They were coached by Marco Medina and Jerry Quinn and the 10 players were Jarod Abram, Max Bakaletz, Matthew Cisneros, Ferdinando Melo, Alex Moriak, Jay Post, Christopher Provel, Daniel Quinn, Matthew Quinn and John Silva.

Congratulation to the players and coaches.

And PAL would like to congratulate all 5 teams on a great season!  And a huge thank you to the PAL coaches, PAL volunteers, parents and the trainer!  Also to the JBA and the referees.  The kids can't do activities like this without your time, dedication and volunteerism.

All games count in standings. Tie for first place. 3-game play-off. Forfeit time is 10 minutes after starting time.

Only legal bats, which are solely provided and marked by MRD, are allowed during game or batting practice.
