Mountainside Fitness Classes

All fitness classes are open to both Mountainside and non-Mountainside residents.

Classes take place in the Mountainside Community Room on the 2nd floor of the Borough Hall Building.

 

Sessions are in two month periods and pre-registration is required.

This is a series of fitness programs specifically designed to take the exciting Latin and International dance rhythms and bring them to beginner participants and older adults. Its fun, different, easy and effective!

Classes take place Monday evenings at 6:00pm

 

Body Sculpting—WILL RESUME IN SEPTEMBER

The body sculpting class is taught by personal trainer Lucia Carannante, who will give you a workout designed to train your upper body, lower body, and abdominals using 3-5 pound hand and ankle weights, as well as resistance cords and stability balls. Come and join us for a total body workout class today!

Classes normally take place Monday evenings at 7:00pm

Strengthen and tone your body while releasing tension and stress. Techniques will be taught integrating asana (posture), pranayama (breathing), and meditation. Yoga promotes strength, flexibility, and spirituality. Join us for this relaxing and spiritual experience!

Classes take place on both Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00pm

 

Pilates—WILL RESUME IN SEPTEMBER

Pilates mat class is a body conditioning method that focuses on developing core stability using a series of stretching, strengthening and lengthening exercises that target the “core muscles,” abdominals, lower back, hips, thighs, and buttocks. This class is designed to create a strong and balanced body, as well as a physical awareness to assist in moving your body correctly in everyday activities.

Classes take place on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm

This class for adults improves heart rate, postures, balance, blood pressure, flexibility, and breathing. It provides effective mental and physical conditioning with undue physical stress.

Classes take place on Wednesday evenings at 8:30pm
